Where can the skip be placed and will I need a permit? Comley Skips will only be placed on private driveways or land and therefore do not need a permit. Please specify any particular placement requirements when ordering your skip.
Comley Skips will be available to place on public highways in Hampshire and Surrey only, and these on road skips will require a permit. Comley Skips are an approved skip provider in the county and are therefore able to apply for permits on behalf of our customers. Please allow a full 5 working days from date of booking your skip to the date the skip is required to allow for successful permit application. Additional charges will apply to on road skips.
Will my drive be damaged by the skip? Soft tarmac drives can potentially be damaged when placing skips on them, and customers will be liable for any loss or damage caused to skips whilst on hire to them from any cause that may arise (excluding fair wear and tear.) Our highly skilled drivers take every care to prevent damage, but any accidental damage must be reported to us immediately. If you are concerned about any damage to your driveway, please take the necessary precautions before your skip is delivered, for example, placing plywood boards over the surface of your driveway at desired skip location.
How is my skip delivered? Your skip will be delivered by our LGV skip lorry, which requires a minimum access width of 9 feet for delivery and collection.
What can I put in my skip? Our skips are for general waste, hardcore, wood, metal and construction and demolition waste. Please do not put any hazardous waste in your skip.
What am I NOT ALLOWED to put in my skip? Do not put hazardous waste in your skip, such as asbestos, adhesives, batteries, chemicals, clinical waste, fuels, flammable liquids, food waste, fridges or freezers, gas bottles, plasterboard, paint, TVs, tree roots, tyres or mattresses. These items will incur an additional charge is they are in your skip. We are able to dispose of hazardous waste by prior arrangement, please enquire when placing your order. No fires or burning of waste in containers.
What if I fill the skip but still have waste to dispose of? We are able to exchange your skip on request, which will be charged at the same original delivery rate. Skips MUST NOT be loaded above the top of the sides. Overloaded skips will not be collected until the excess material is removed.
How do I get a skip collected when I am finished with it? Simply contact us and arrange a suitable collection time with our office team.
Do I need to be there when my skip is delivered or collected? We ask that someone is present on delivery to ensure correct placement of the skip, please make us aware when placing your order if this is not possible. You do not need to be present for collection, but please make the team aware of any additional information when booking your collection date.
